The following questions are based on the eight characteristics of results-based teams. While more robust diagnostics are part of our standard results-based teams interventions, this simplified assessment can be used to get a quick read on how effective your team is likely to be and identify some simple ways to make changes and improve team performance.

1–1.9
Your results are very low. Do you really need a team ? Within this range, the team is best served by reviewing the 8 elements of Results Based Teams and engaging in dialogue surrounding purpose, trust and individual roles.
2–3
All teams struggle, identifying areas for improvement starts with recognizing a problem exists. Pick 1-2 areas based on your team’s most pressing goals and work to improve them. Go to the basics… Once the purpose is clear to all, define roles and make sure diversity, styles and trust levels are being acknowledged.
3.1–4
Results Based Teams know that good teams require time and effort to build. Improvement upon improvement will get your team where you want to be. Maintain the current strong areas while working to improve one opportunity area.
4.1–5
Most of your Team Characteristics seem to be on-track. Utilizing the outside-in approach, consider asking external stakeholders of your team to give feedback. What is one improvement your team could make moving forward? What will the team require in the future? Are you getting prepared for new challenges and new team members?
