The 2009 edition of Top Companies for Leaders Study ranks 550 of the worlds largest companies based on criteria including leadership practices and culture, company reputation, and business performance.

Conducted by The RBL Group, Hewitt Associates, and FORTUNE magazine, the study found one overarching characteristic that set Top Companies for Leaders apart from the rest – Global Top Companies make leadership a critical part of the company’s organizational fabric.

For the past twenty years the Human Resource Competency Study (HRCS) has answered the question: What knowledge and abilities are necessary for successful HR professionals?

Led by Professors Dave Ulrich and Wayne Brockbank, The RBL Group and the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan completed Round 5 of the HRCS with the assistance of global research partners: SHRM, IAE School of Business, IMI, Tsinghua University, AHRI, and the National HRD Network.  Over 10,000 individuals participated in Round 5, making this the largest global study on HR competencies.

Round 5 of the HRCS has produced a clear model for competencies needed by high-performing HR professionals and departments.
