Insider 2010 | Volume 12 | Dec 2010 | The RBL Group
WELCOME
We are pleased to welcome the Hewlett-Packard Company as the latest member of the RBL Institute! We look forward to collaborating and co-creating with the HR professionals at HP.
The first Think Tank Session of 2011 will take place on February 1-2 in London. Unilever has graciously agreed to co-host this session. At this Think Tank, Dave Ulrich & Norm Smallwood will address how to position your company for sustainable growth.
The talent manager finds gifted people with different skills capable of moving in the same strategic direction. To do so, he or she needs to create a shared purpose that helps each individual reach separate goals.
In November, we held our Think Tank session in New York City. Dave Ulrich & Norm Smallwood shared ideas with members on building a strong leadership bench. BNP Paribas was our gracious co-host for this event. A Playbook reviewing the session has been created and is available to all web-registered Institute members.
To register for the website go to rbl.net and click on “Create an Account”.

Please take a moment to check our the 2011 calendar of Institute events. 2011 Top Companies for Leaders Study Opens in February
Leadership is the single largest issue in business today - extensive evidence supports this claim. Surveys report that the lack of talent and leadership are among the top concerns of executives. Most organizations can’t find or develop leaders fast enough; and confidence in those at the top of our institutions has steadily eroded over the last two decades. As Dave Ulrich and Norm Smallwood stated in the book Leadership Brand, "We believe that leaders matter, but leadership matters more. Leadership matters more because it is tied not to a person but to the process of building leaders".
Initiated in 2001, the Top Companies for Leaders study examines best-in-class leadership and talent strategies, practices, and outcomes of companies around the world.
In 2011, we look forward to working again with Aon Hewitt and FORTUNE magazine to get the latest in leadership development. We invite you to register your interest in the 2011 study and learn about what you can do to develop leaders faster and better than your competition.
