Restoring Pride in the Workplace

When

Oct 19, 2010

The global economic recession, which still lingers on, has led to a number of interesting challenges for large corporations and their HR departments.  For example, during the height of the economic recession when governments intervened to infuse capital into large banks across the globe, the reputation of financial firms and their brand images were diminished in the eyes of both the media and the average citizen.  This form of public reputation damage is by no means limited to the financial services industry (e.g., BP’s image as a result of the Gulf of Mexico oil spill).  The recession has led to a closer public scrutiny of all large corporations forcing many companies to look to ways to restore confidence in their organizations, not only in the eye’s of everyday citizens and the media, but also ways to restore the pride and confidence of their own employees.

A number of RBL Institute members are concerned about the psyche of their employees and looking for ways to restore a sense of pride in the workplace during these turbulent times.  In the current landscape, many HR organizations have been embarking on initiatives to help restore a sense of pride in the organization, efforts to re-engage their workforce, ways to help to rebuild the corporate brand, not just externally with customers, but internally with employees as well.

This Mini-Forum will look at what RBL Institute members are doing to help re-build a sense of pride in the workplace, efforts to rebuild the brand image in both the eye’s of customers and employees, and what companies are doing to re-engage current and prospective employees.

Target Audience: CHRO or ONE Senior Member of the HR Leadership Team who leads/directs initiatives in the topic area.
